Dr. Hira Akbar

Dr. Akbar is the newest member of the Clear Coast Dental Family and looks forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the office. She is passionate about improving people’s lives, and combines her expertise with artistry to devise customized treatment plans tailored to meet your unique needs. She takes a truly patient-centered approach, and takes the time to help you feel comfortable and confident during each visit.

Dr. Akbar initially graduated from New York University and then graduated with her dental doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. During her time there, she focused on in-depth research projects and completed a teaching certificate, then she went on to complete her AEGD (Advanced Education in General Residency) at a Boston health clinic.

But Dr. Akbar didn’t stop there. She continues to remain committed to continuing education and has spent additional hours training on various topics, including preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures, making her an expert at building beautiful, healthy smiles.

Dr. Akbar also Certified Invisalign Provider and has participated in at least five service trips to various locations, including Texas, Portugal, Thailand, Lebanon, and Jamaica, to work with Habitat for Humanity, teach local children, prepare food for homeless youth, and provide vital dental care for underserved communities.

When she’s not at work helping find unique solutions to help address your dental concerns, she enjoys spending time visiting her large family, traveling, staying active, or enjoying nature in local parks and other cities.

Dr. William Herr

Dr. Herr’s favorite part of his job is forming relationships with patients and making a positive impact on their daily lives. He understands the value of feeling confident in your smile and stives to provide quality services to help address your concerns or meet your goals.

Dr. Herr was born and raised in rural northwest Ohio and initially attended Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Microbiology, then went on to graduate with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland’s School of Dentistry. He also has attended the Veteran Administration’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program, and his commitment to clinical excellence allowed him to participate in a year-long clerkship in implant prosthodontics and oral surgery.

Even with his many accomplishments, Dr. Herr remains committed to continuing education and has completed hundreds of hours of training in various courses, and he stays active with different professional organizations, including serving as the appointed Delegate and the Massachusetts Vice President of the Academy of General Dentistry and attending the Massachusetts Dental Society’s Leadership Institute, to stay abreast of the latest treatment trends and technology.

In his free time, Dr. Herr enjoys spending quality time with beloved wife, family, and friends or rooting for the Ohio State University football team.

Dr. Andrew Luccio

Dr. Andrew Luccio was always drawn to a career in healthcare, and the more he learned about the widespread nature of dental health problems, the more passionately he felt about providing services to help improve patient’s smiles. He was born and raised in the Boston South Shore area, and today, takes pride in serving families near the New Bedford community.

Dr. Luccio began his educational career at the University of Richmond, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he was honored with the American Academy of Periodontology’s Achievement Award for academic and clinical excellence.

Since then, Dr. Luccio has advanced his training and completed extensive courses so he can offer specialty services, such as Invisalign, Botox®, and Juvederm® injections.

When he’s away from the office, you might find Dr., Luccio hanging out with friends and family, exploring local sites, traveling to new places, or rooting for the Celtics and Patriots.
